More Partnerships

Throughout the years, the St. Joseph County Soil & Water Conservation District has worked with many different organizations toward providing educational, outreach, and technical services to our community.

In 2010 and 2011, for instance, we have been working with Indiana University South Bend’s Center for a Sustainable Future to deliver outreach and education on water quality and stormwater through two recent projects:

  • A community film screening of the award-winning documentary film, “Waterlife” that was held in the summer of 2010; and

  • An Original Art Rain Barrel Project that has been in its planning stages since the fall of 2010 and which will culminate in a public Rain Barrel Auction on Friday, May 6, 2011 at the South Bend Museum of Art (starting at 7 PM EST)

The St. Joseph County SWCD, as a sponsor and underwriter of the Original Art Rain Barrel Project, is dedicated to spreading the word about the May 6th Rain Barrel Auction through emails and our upcoming April / May /June 2011 edition of our newsletter, The Conservation Kaleidoscope.

You, and anyone else you'd like to ask, are officially invited to the Original Art Rain Barrel Auction on Friday, May 6, 2011 beginning at 7PM at the South Bend Museum of Art. (CLICK HERE for directions.)
